Jay Phenicie is president of Phenmar, Inc., and has been involved in agriculture since being raised on a grain farm in Central Illinois. After earning a degree in Agricultural Economics from Penn State, he became a grain merchandiser, buying and selling grain to processors, terminals, and exporters.

Jay served as an export grain trader for a large international grain conglomerate located at an export facility in New Orleans. He became a grain terminal manager for a grain barge company, designing, overseeing construction, and managing a new river terminal in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In 1984, after 16 years in the grain industry, Jay elected to take his expertise to the producer level, helping to meet the needs of farmers in marketing their crops. He accomplishes this by using all the tools available, including cash contracts, futures, and options to ensure the safest and best return for our clients.
